Lauren has a longstanding interest and commitment to criminal law, dating back to her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice and Public Policy, which she earned at the University of Guelph in 2004. She earned her law degree from the University of Windsor in 2010, graduating as the gold medalist and earning a number of additional awards for academic excellence.

During her time at Windsor Law, Lauren was actively engaged in a number of extra-curricular pursuits relating to criminal law. This included: competitive mooting (Arnup/Sopinka & Gale Cup Competitions), running tutorials for first year criminal law students, and providing legal representation to students and vulnerable members of the Windsor community as a student litigator and group supervisor with Community Legal Aid.  

After completing her law degree, Lauren articled in Hamilton as a judicial law clerk to the judges of the Superior Court of Justice for the central south region. She followed that with a further judicial clerkship at the Ontario Court of Appeal. There, she worked for Justice John Laskin and Justice David Watt.

Lauren was called to the bar in June of 2011 and joined Dean D. Paquette & Associate in the fall of 2012. Her practice is focused on criminal trials and appeals.
